Dutch Apple Pie

Crust:

1.5 cups flour
1.5 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
3/4 cup oil
3 Tbsp milk

Combine dry ingredients.  Add oil and milk and stir to form a ball.  Place in a 9" pie pan and form crust by patting down with your hand.  Flute the top edge. Refrigerate.

Pie Filling:

5 cups apples, peeled and sliced thin
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
fresh lemon juice from 1/2 a lemon

In a bowl, combined the apples, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and lemon juice.

Crumb Topping:

1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup cold butter

Stir flour and sugar together to combine.  Cut the butter into squares and then cut into flour and sugar until it is crumbly.  Pour the apples into the pie crust.  Sprinkle crumb topping over the apples.  Place pie in a paper bag and seal with staples being careful to have the pie not touch the sides of the bag.  Place on a pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
